EDUCATION DISTRICT VI HONOURS TEACHERS, SCHOLARS FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE

The Chairman Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Victoria M. Peregrino has tasked teachers and scholars in Education District VI to remain driven by excellence.
Peregrino, who gave the advice at the Education District VI Y2023 Annual Merit Awards and Honours’ Day ceremony held recently at Oshodi, enjoined the awardees to remain selfless while encouraging other teachers to work harder and put in more effort to be recipients of such awards in future.
She implored the teachers to take advantage of all the programmes and policies designed for their benefit by the Lagos State Government, adding that they should also strive to remain bastions of excellence and role models for their students.
Earlier in her opening remarks, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District VI, Dr. (Mrs.) Shareefah Adejoke Yusuf said the award ceremony is an annual event created to acknowledge and celebrate achievers who have distinguished themselves last year, noting that it is also intended to serve as motivation and morale booster for all stakeholders.
Yusuf disclosed that the awards are in different categories, such as the Merit Awards for Students who excelled in co and extracurricular activities; Students who have brought glory to the District through their outstanding exploits; Teachers who have proven their worth through their outstanding contributions to growth and successful exploits of our students, and Stakeholders who have the District pillar of support.
