US applications for jobless benefits fall to lowest level in 12 weeks

WASHINGTON D.C.: The latest report from the Labor Department shows a positive trend in the U.S. labor market as the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits dipped to its lowest level in nearly three months.

For the week ending January 6, jobless claims reached 202,000, marking a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week. The four-week average, which helps smooth out weekly fluctuations, decreased by
