Noting Donald Trump spent part of Saturday attacking judges overseeing his multiple trials when he wasn't campaigning in Iowa, former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance wrote the embattled ex-president is getting desperate because he knows he is losing on multiple fronts so he is ramping up his undercutting the judicial system.
Taking to his Truth Social platform on Saturday and first writing, "Republican Judges are very often afraid to do the right thing. They go out of their way to show they are totally impartial, to the point of making really bad and unfair decisions. Their counterparts, Judges appointed by Democrats, like Biden or Obama, laugh at the stupidity of it all. They go out of their way to follow the party line, they don’t give the opposition a chance. Such a difference — It is so SAD to see!" Trump later lashed out at "Trump-hating" Judge Lewis Kaplan who is overseeing the second E. Jean Carroll defamation trial.
As Vance sees it, Trump is in a panic with nowhere else to go.
On her Civil Discourse Substack platform, the former prosecutor wrote, "There is so much—a deluge of evidence that a second Trump administration would be far darker, far more dangerous, and far closer to fascism and authoritarianism than the first one was. Like a wounded animal that is cornered, Trump has no other way out. It’s not difficult to see the signs. What’s difficult is understanding how so many people are able to ignore the truth that is in front of us."
More to the point, she singled out Trump's Kaplan attack, pointing out that the former president is once again inciting violence against a judge.

With Trump writing, "Lewis Kaplan, the terrible, biased, irrationally angry Clinton-appointed Judge in the Bergdorf’s Hoax," Vance explained, "It should be unthinkable for Trump to make these comments, especially on the heels of the bomb threat called into the home of Judge Engoron, who is trying the fraud case, last week. Now he has moved on to Judge Kaplan, who is assigned to the E. Jean Carroll case. Despite knowing comments like this target people Trump identifies as his enemies in the minds of some of his followers, he continues to do it."
She then added with disgust, "And no one in the Republican Party condemns him for it."
"Today, too many people seem to be willing to watch a would-be dictator come to power in this country. We must avoid giving in to complacency. That’s an important part of our job right now. Don’t give up. Don’t think of Trump as inevitable. He’s not, and we’re going to make sure that he doesn’t win," she concluded.
