Baltimore man killed in Saturday morning crash in Shady Side, Anne Arundel County Police say

A 54-year-old man from Baltimore was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Shady Side, according to Anne Arundel County police.

The driver and a 3-year-old passenger were both uninjured, police said.

Officers responded shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday to the area of Shady Side Road and Halie Parkway, where a 2017 Nissan Rogue had crashed into a utility pole, police said in a Sunday news release.

Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling south on Shady Side Road when the driver, a 26-year-old woman, failed to negotiate a curve, left the road and struck the pole. The front passenger, Thomas Dudley Mollar, of Baltimore, died at the scene.

The toddler, who was seated in the rear, was taken to Children’s National Hospital as a precaution. The county police department’s Traffic Safety Section is investigating the crash.
