Though many improvements were made under Smart Cities Mission around Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, the basic needs are still unmet; haphazard parking of vehicles from many States and lack of toilet and bathroom facilities, etc., still haunt the thousands of devotees who descend on Madurai every day
