Aldi’s heated airer dries clothes in less than an hour & costs pennies to run – it’s a Lakeland dupe but £70 cheaper
DRYING clothes in the winter months can be both time-consuming and expensive.
But if you’re looking to cut back on energy bills and ditch your pricey tumble dryer, then you could just be in luck – because it turns out there’s the perfect alternative in Aldi.
Gemma Walker took to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and posted a snap of the Ambiano 300 watt 3 tier heated airer which features 36 heated bars and claims to cost less than 9p an hour to run.
Alongside the image, she penned: “I don’t know if this has been posted but Aldi have the 3 tier heated airer in at the moment £80 comes with cover (which is blue).
“These are around £150 in Lakeland although Ald’s comes with mesh peg add one for socks etc – good little saving.
“Can’t comment on how well it is yet as I’ve only just put it up – currently got my washing on it so will let you know.”
However, she points out: “The only negative is the blue colour but I’ll happily look at it if it saves me spending so much on electricity at the moment.”
The post quickly garnered over 230 likes and 398 comments, with people rushing to the comments section to praise their heated airer.
“I bought mine over year ago and they are the best things in slice bread,” enthused one.
A second penned: “I bought this one a couple of years ago and it’s been brilliant!
“I’ve put it on a timer so I don’t forget to turn it off! Well worth it!”
A third commented: “I love mine!”
Another noted: “Neeeeeeeeddd!”
A further wrote: “I think I need to invest in one.”
And one more chimed in: “I’ve got one. It’s good!”
Elsewhere, another advised: “Put your clothes on a normal airer next to radiator, tuck a sheet down the back of the radiator & pull the rest over the airer dries in no time.”
And it’s not the first time shoppers have been racing to Aldi in recent days.
