Car crashes into house, causing gas leak in Guilderland

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A vehicle crash in Guilderland resulted in a natural gas leak on Thursday night. Christoper L. Jura, 43, of Troy, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash.

Investigations determined that Jura crashed into a house and a utility pole on Johnston Road. Residents in the surrounding area were required to evacuate while National Grid repaired the natural gas line and utility pole.

The accident shut down Johnstown Road for several hours. Jura refused a test to determine his blood alcohol content and was released with an appearance ticket to Guilderland Town Court at a later date.
