Copake man arrested in Quick Mart burglary
HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Copake man was arrested on Wednesday and is accused of burglarizing a Quick Mart and Green Street Deli at 67 Green Street in Hudson. Duane Thompson, 29, faces several charges.
On Wednesday, around 4:24 a.m., the Columbia County Sheriff's Office was alerted of a burglary at the Quick Mart. A burglary alarm was going off due to a motion detector in the store, according to law enforcement.
Upon arrival, deputies saw a large glass window had been broken into. Law enforcement says someone had entered the store and stole items.
A search warrant was executed at Bliss Towers, 41 North Second Street in Hudson. Thompson was found in the apartment with items from the burglary, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Charges:
- Third-degree burglary
- Second-degree criminal mischief
- Grand larceny
Thompson was arrested and processed. He was arraigned in the town of Greenport Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail.
