Two ticketed for hunting in Peebles Island State Park

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two hunters were caught with a harvested deer in Peebles Island State Park on December 29. While Peebles Island is located in Wildlife Management Area 4J, hunting in the State Park is prohibited.

The hunters admitted to Environmental Conservation Officer Hameline and State Park Police Officer Wier that they illegally took the deer with a crossbow. The hunters also did not have the proper licenses.

They were ticketed for taking big game illegally, hunting without the required licenses, and possessing a cocked crossbow in a motor vehicle. Tickets are returnable to the City of Cohoes Court.
