LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Two schools in Lafayette Parish will be dismissing their students early today as a result of the ongoing water pressure issues related to this week's hard frost, according to Amanda Blanco, LPSS Public Information Officer.

Students will be released early from Evangeline Elementary School and Carencro High School. A news release announcing the action did not specify what time students would be released.

"Due to the impact of the extreme cold weather on the city's water system and the low water pressure we are currently experiencing, Evangeline Elementary School and Carencro High School will dismiss early today, " Blanco said. "Parents will receive dismissal instructions directly from the school. Students will not be allowed to check out prior to dismissal. We ask that parents refrain from arriving on campus early and wait until further guidance is received."

Students were also released early from two schools in Evangeline Parish earlier this morning.
