BMW partners with humanoid startup Figure to take on Tesla's robot

COLUMBIA, South Carolina: As more companies deploy humanoid robots to complete specific physical tasks, robotics startup Figure said it will partner with BMW to deploy its human-like robots in the German car maker's U.S. facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Brett Adcock, chief executive of Figure, said the partnership will start with small quantities and expand if performance targets have been met.
