International media have reported that as a result of the US and UK attacks on Houthi positions in Yemen from January 12th onwards, at least 75 people have been killed.
According to a report by Sky News citing a Yemeni source, the US and UK airstrikes on Houthi militia positions in the past 15 days alone have left a minimum of 75 casualties.
Among the casualties are at least three members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran and six members of Hezbollah Lebanon.
This number has been killed as a result of various attacks by the US and UK on areas including Hudaydah, Hajjah, Dhamaar, Taiz, and Al-Bayda from January 10th until now.
It is worth noting that the United Nations Security Council approved a draft resolution proposed by the United States on Thursday, calling for a halt to Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, and the US and UK airstrikes on Houthi positions began the next day.
Meanwhile, two US Navy Seals, who had gone missing during an operation aimed at intercepting Iranian-made weapons destined for Houthi rebels in Yemen, are now presumed dead, as confirmed by the US military. The incident occurred on January 11th when the commandos were in the process of boarding a vessel located off the coast of Somalia.
Reports from various media outlets indicate that during the operation, one of the Navy Seals was swept away by adverse circumstances, prompting the second Seal to jump in after them, in accordance with established protocols. Despite their valiant efforts, both service members are now believed to have lost their lives in the line of duty.
US Central Command has announced ongoing efforts to recover the bodies of these fallen heroes. The head of Central Command (Centcom), Gen Michael Erik Kurilla, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, emphasizing that they will forever be remembered and honoured for their sacrifice and unwavering commitment to their mission.
