‘The audacity!’ Top supermarket sparks war with Pot Noodle after launching budget dupe – and fans are loving it
ALDI bosses have sparked a spicy new war with Pot Noodle over their cheekiest dupe yet.
The supermarket has brought out its own budget version of Pot Noodle’s hugely popular snack Bombay Bad Boy.
Discount outlet Aldi has called its take on the instant noodle pots Mumbai Mad Boy – and customers have been left in hysterics.
After spotting the noodle pots in aisles, one shopper said: “This is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
“Aldi’s own Bombay Bad Boy called a Mumbai Mad Boy. Pot Noodle’s gonna be upset!”
Another added on X: “The audacity of @AldiUK never fails to make my day. Mumbai Mad Boy lol!”
A third said: “Love it when @AldiUK do this ! I’m quite fond of a #potnoodle Bombay Bad Boy…. So hats off to Aldi’s Mumbai Mad Boy. Great stuff!”
And someone else admitted: “This is peak Aldi. I don’t think I could love them more.”
Aldi’s Mumbai Mad Boys are part of its Bramwells Express Mega Snack Noodles range.
A 114g pot is priced at just 85p.
In comparison, Pot Noodle’s 114g King Pot Bombay Bad Boy sells for £1.40 in rival supermarkets.
Both are made with boiling water and come with a sachet of spicy sauce to give it a kick.
Aldi’s Mumbai Mad Boy is described as: “Dried noodles in a hot curry flavour sauce with vegetables and a sachet of hot chilli sauce.”
Gareth Morgan, aka Bald Foodie Guy, has reviewed Mumbai Mad Boys for his YouTube channel.
He has told fans: “I’ve had the Bombay Bad Boy before and they do hit out a lot of heat.
“Heat-wise, I don’t think it’s as hot but you could always add some more chilli sauce.
“It’s even got peas in here, so I’m getting some healthy vegetables.
“If you want to save a few quid, then try it rather than getting the Pot Noodle one!”
Aldi was contacted for comment.
