I took a picture of my 40-year-old face before trying £3 anti-ageing hack for 6 days – the results are astonishing
FROM luxurious skin creams to pricey cosmetic procedures, some people will pay a small fortune in a bid to turn back the clock.
But it turns out there’s no need to splash the cash when it comes to all things anti-ageing, because one woman has showed off her impressive 6 day transformation…which she achieved for less than £3.

The woman named Michelle, who credits Kate (@yourmategingerkate) for her top beauty tips, took to TikTok (@michelle.haslam) and posted a before and after photo -and it’s fair to say the difference is very impressive..
“So the top picture was me six days ago, and the bottom picture is me today,” she explains.
“Hopefully you can see that the dark eye bags are slowly disappearing, the skin tome is a lot more even – it’s softer and smoother.”
She goes on to say how all she’s done is “three little things” – and begins by explaining how she uses a banana peel, which can be bought for just 10p, fresh from the freezer.
“I gently apply this over my face and then I leave that one for 10=-15 minutes,” she explains.
Next up, she notes how she’s been putting castor oil, which can be bought for as little as £2, under her eyes, followed by a cucumber slice.
“So the other thing I’m doing is I got myself a glass bottle from Amazon and I’ve mixed up in here a mixture of castor oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E oil,” she continues.
“I’m using this as a moisturiser.”
However, Michelle warns: “I have to sometimes supplement with my normal moisturiser because I have been finding it a little bit drying but all in all the increased smoothness in skin texture is making it worth it.”
Michelle’s post has since gone viral, garnering a whopping 50.6k views and several comments from very impressed beauty fans.
“Amazing.. I’m going to have to try this,” praised one.
A second asked: “How long do you use the banana peel for before using a new one, and do you freeze it every time?”
Michelle replied: “I just use it until it’s finished. Yes I prefer it frozen.”
A third enthused: “Wowww – YES YES YES! That’s incredible.”
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “Definitely see a difference – looks great!”
Another added: “You look fabulous!!! I’m also starting!”
And a further chimed in: “I tried the banana skin and it actually made.mu skin so smooth after! yet to try castor oil.”
Castor oil helps to reduce fine lines and promotes skin elasticity and frankincense is also full of anti-oxidants.
Dermatologists have provided support for the anti-ageing benefits of bananas when using their empty peels.
While there’s no scientific evidence to prove the skincare effects of this fruit, Chicago-based dermatologist Dr. Jordan Carqueville and Texas-based Dr. Adeline Kikam shared their expertise on the benefits.
In a recent Today article, Dr. Kikam notes that the tannins of the banana are similar to those used in different skincare products for tightening and toning purposes – adding that they’re also known to help diminish under-eye bags and brighten them.
“You can actually find bananas listed as an ingredient in some skin care products, Kikam said, because they’re rich in good-for-the-skin phytochemicals and vitamin A,” the article says.
Paraphrasing Dr. Carqueville’s thoughts, the article says: “By leaving the peels on the skin for an extended period it could potentially ‘occlude’ the skin, essentially sealing moisture in.”
