Dr. Daniel Barrett (@barrettplasticsurgery) describes himself as a natural plastic surgeon.

He offered beneficial beauty tips in a TikTok video — and some didn’t cost a dime.

Right off the bat, he said that the best free beauty hack he could offer was to “get good sleep.”

Next, the 44-year-old shared an anti-aging tip which was to start using NAD, which stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.

NAD+ is a coenzyme already in your body that is “critical” for healthy aging.

As you get older, your NAD+ levels decline, which causes your face to lose elasticity and fine lines and wrinkles to occur.

Several topical products on the market can help combat this.

The Beverly Hills-based skincare expert followed it up by saying that smoking will also “age you the fastest.”

Dr. Barrett added that retinol is the top “must-have” for your skincare routine.

An important part of the video was when he told viewers a buy not to invest in and save money in the long run which was hyaluronic acid.

“To put on top of your skin, it doesn’t get absorbed. It doesn’t do anything and makes your skin feel good when you put it on. But other than that, it’s just a waste of money,” he said.

Not everyone was sold on his recommendation.

“I had noooo idea hyaluronic acid was a waste of money. Why is it so heavily preached on? a TikTok user asked.

“But hyaluronic makes my skin glow alongside using snail extract. Both work for me,” a woman commented.

Dr Barrett replied that “it weakens your skin long term.”

The comment section was also filled with multiple opinions and questions.

“‘Get good sleep.’ Me watching this at 6:35 am without a single minute of sleep,” a viewer wrote.

“Free beauty hack is good sleep. I could not even afford it,” another added.
