Schenectady man found guilty of murder in 2021 fatal home invasion case

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Friday, a jury found Carlos Lewis, 26, of Schenectady, guilty of second-degree murder and burglary in the first degree. Lewis is one of three individuals convicted for the murder of Nathaniel Miller of Pittstown on June 9, 2021.

Police were called to a report of a home invasion on Jay Herrington Road. Nathaniel Miller was shot to death during the incident.

Co-defendant Kyle Hutchinson was sentenced to 25 years to life on the same charges. The third suspect, Devin Van Patten, pled guilty to his role and is awaiting a 20-year sentence in state prison.

Sentencing for Lewis is scheduled for February 26. He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
