Berkshire County town to have a restaurant again

CHESHIRE, Mass. (NEWS10) -- The Town of Cheshire has ice cream stands, a liquor store, a Dunkin' and more, but it doesn't have a full restaurant. Cj Garner and partner Marcus Lyon are going to change that by opening Common Table.

Common Table is set to open at 41 South Street, in the former home of The Gathering Pub & Pizzeria. Garner is planning to open the restaurant in May.

Garner is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has more than 10 years in the restaurant industry. He said the dining room and bar areas at 41 South Street are being completely renovated.

The Common Table menu will feature American comfort food with rotating seasonal dishes with ingredients from local farms, said Garner. Common Table will also have a rotating craft cocktail, beer, and wine program with seasonal options as well.

Garner said they are currently discussing what the hours will be, but Common Table will be open Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant will be open for dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday and for lunch and dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring a restaurant back into the Cheshire Community, but also to serve a product that will attract guests from all over the county and beyond," said Garner. "We look forward to making new friends and seeing familiar faces."
