Ex-Cowboys WR Said Micah Parsons Is Selfish, and NFL Fans Couldn’t Disagree More
Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Micah Parsons is widely acknowledged as one of the top defensive players in the NFL, as he has totaled 40 1/2 sacks in his first three seasons in the league. However, while Parsons’s production has been a huge part of his team’s success in recent years, one former NFL player thinks Parsons is letting the Cowboys down.
Jesse Holley, who played wide receiver for the Cowboys from 2009 through ’11, joined Ray Ray’s Podcast to explain why he believes Parsons needs to do more for Dallas to break through.
“Micah Parsons, to me, is probably the most selfish player on this football team,” Holley said on Wednesday’s episode of the podcast.
Holley also claimed that Parsons’s desire to remain a pass-rusher is hurting the team, as that preference is supposedly keeping him from developing into an all-around great defender.
“One of the reasons that Micah Parsons does not want to play linebacker is it’s too much of a responsibility,” Holley said. “Maybe it’s just the youth in him. Micah doesn’t want to study. Micah doesn’t want to focus in, and I truly believe Micah wants to be great for Micah.”
Holley’s comments went viral Friday, with “Micah Parsons” trending on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The idea that Micah Parsons is selfish is complete trash.

Like I know we need an Off ball Linebacker and we struggled vs the run, but blaming your most best/versatile defender isn’t the answer.
Micah is selfish because he won't take the time to learn how to play a position better that he doesn't even play full time? I'm just trying to make sure I understand this correctly?

Dak and Micah Parsons have been called "selfish" by this fanbase. When the real culprits of selfishness are in the first office. Who refuse to commit to any change, because real change would mean them admitting to how wrong then have been . And their egos can't handle that. https://t.co/q8j4nQu9mJ

This is such a reach. Parsons is a top 2 pass rusher in the nfl. Why are we moving him to off ball Lb? A less valuable position.

Also, Martin doesn’t want to play RT. Why isn’t he the most selfish player in the team? Lamb pouts when he doesn’t get the ball. What about him?
Sound stupid AF. No one spoke on Micah playing more LB at the BEGINNING of the season, yall ate it up watching him train offseason to be better at DE but NOW all of a sudden he “selfish” b/c the front office traded every damn LB we had on the PS & we got killed at the position ????

As long as the Cowboys continue to underwhelm in the playoffs, they almost certainly will be subject to intense criticism from their fans and NFL analysts alike.
