I went on a first date to a fondue restaurant & ate something I shouldn’t have, it’s amazing he wanted to see me again

EATING out on a first date is probably best avoided judging by the cringeworthy experience of one woman.

She felt out of her depth when her date took her to a fondue restaurant.

It was a disaster from beginning to end for her after she ate something she shouldn’t have.

But her date must have thought her reaction cute because he wanted to see her again.

Cami (@camisurro), who has 433,000 followers on her TikTok, couldn’t believe it and thought it was amazing.

“If a man is truly interested in you, nothing is going to make him uninterested,” was the moral of her story after her dinner disaster.

In her post, she figured enough time had passed to share her sorry dining tale.

“I have proof that if a guy really likes you, no matter what you do, he’s not going to f**king leave,” she said based on her own experience.

“I’m not talking to this guy anymore, so I felt like it’s the perfect time to share it.”

It had all started so well with a date arranged at the Melting Pot.

It’s a fondue restaurant, but not everyone is familiar with this culinary style, as Cami was soon to learn.

“Now if you’ve ever been to the Melting Pot, you get a four-course entrée type deal and you’re always taking your food and you’re dipping it in something and eating it.”

The first course was cheese fondue, which was straightforward. As was the salad that followed.

But events turned problematic when they moved on to the entrée.

She said: “There is a full plate of raw meat and seafood.

“You’re supposed to take your little stick, dip it in the boiling water, and cook it. Keyword cook it before you eat it. [But the] concept wasn’t clicking,” she admitted.

Therefore, she saw a plate full of food, and she just tucked in.

“So he’s babbling on and I started eating and grabbed the first thing I see, which is a piece of fish,” she cringed.

But it is teriyaki steak: “As I’m chewing it I’m like, oh f**k. Was I supposed to cook this before I ate it?”

Like anyone on a date, Cami wanted to make the right impression. If she owned up she didn’t have a clue what she was doing, it might not look good.

“On a first date, I’m not going to admit I’m eating a piece of raw meat,” she wrote. “I’m chewing and like this is not salmon. Was I supposed to cook this sh*t?

“I was about to swallow the sh*t whole before he noticed what I did.”

She did not want to embarrass herself: “I could not bear to admit that I didn’t understand [that] you’re supposed to cook it before you eat it.”

In the end, she just had to swallow her indignity: “I ended up having to spit out the piece of raw meat right in front of this man on our first date.”

But even this wasn’t enough to put him off: “He was still trying to see me again.

“And so that’s your reminder, if he likes you, you can eat a piece of raw meat and he will still want to see you again,” she said in conclusion.

There was a huge response to her video, with over 76,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

Some viewers had similar experiences, some far more dramatic.

“I violently threw up in a parking lot on my first date with a dude and he still wanted to see me again,” recalled this person.

A second person’s story was shocking: “I choked on an oyster shell when chucking it and he performed the Heimlich maneuver.”

And this viewer’s experience didn’t get in the way of true love.

“I peed in my bed because of a medication issue on my first date with my current boy friend and we’re still together. “
