Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav announced that his party's alliance with Congress in Uttar Pradesh under the INDIA bloc is "off to a good start" with reservation of 11 seats for the latter ahead of the 2024 polls. However, the SP has kept the door open for renegotiation to increase the number. Yadav's announcement came amid widespread apprehension about the future of the INDIA alliance, with TMC chief Mamata Banerjee announcing will contest the polls on its own.
