Women over 50, you’re contouring wrong – my method instantly adds volume so you don’t look like Skeletor
WRINKLES aren’t the only tell-tale sign of aging on the face.
A professional makeup artist has shared her trick for adding instant volume to knock years off your appearance.
In her video, Michelle Spieler (@maturemakeupmasterclass) demonstrated the beauty technique for her followers.
The TikToker, who specializes in makeup looks for more mature skin, revealed the common mistake people make that ages them.
“Women over 50, never contour the temples, that’s where we’re hollowing out,” Michelle explained.
She offered an alternative product to apply to the temple area that she said would add volume to your face.
“So in those areas, we’re going to lighten and brighten because it instantly adds volume to any hollow area,” she told her viewers.
Michelle demonstrated her trick on one side of her face while doing a typical contour on her opposite temple.
“See? Look at that fullness, look at this side, it’s full and round,” she pointed out.
The beauty enthusiast turned her head to reveal the other half of her face.
“Look at this side, it’s dark, Skeletor,” she said, referring to the comic book villain from the Marvel Universe.
As his name implies, Skeletor resembles a living Skeleton with only a skull for a head.
Describing the look as a “contour no-no,” Michelle cautioned her more mature audience from blindly following makeup trends.
“Be careful who you listen to,” she said.
Michelle’s followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.
“That’s why we should study our face shapes and adjust contouring to the effect we want to achieve,” one viewer said.
“Yep, I can see the difference easily,” wrote another TikTok user.
“Contouring makes me look skeletal, thank you for that tip,” commented a third person.
