Fort Cavazos soldier killed, another injured in early morning shooting

Nolanville (FOX 44/KWKT) -- Nolanville Police Officers are investigating a deadly shooting that involved two Fort Cavazos soldiers. Army CID investigators are assisting Nolanville police.

The shooting took place around 8:25 a.m. Saturday and left one soldier dead and another hospitalized, according to Nolanville Police Chief Michael Hatton.

Chief Hatton has not confirmed what sparked the shooting or where exactly it happened.

The 1st Cavalry Division Chief of Public Affairs, LTC Charles Patterson confirmed the shooting took place and that they are in contact with the families of the soldiers. No names have been released so far.
