Grey skies and marginal but clean early
Hello Friends,
It was misting slightly when I grabbed the snaps a little before 0700. Wind was coming from the ENE at a lazy 3-4 knots and the Botany Bay buoy was showing 1.2 metres of 6-second NE wind bump. Beachwatch says the water’s clean and 24. There were a few hopefuls bobbing around in the ankle to knee high dribble, but you’d want to be pretty keen.
This morning’s swell models are in agreement that we’re looking at marginal to near flat until Friday afternoon at the earliest. If we’re lucky, there could be the first hint of a fresh south pulse showing at the magnets. By Saturday morning it should be filling in with heights at sea in 1.5-2 metre range and a period of around 10 seconds…
In the meantime, have yourself a top old Tuesday!
Weather Situation
A trough over northwestern interior of Queensland extends to northern inland of New South Wales and southeastern Queensland, while a weak high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to eastern New South Wales. A series of troughs are expected to brush the southern and central parts of the coast during the first half of the week, then a cold front is forecast to brush the southeast on Friday, with a cool southerly wind change moving through the coast in the wake.
