Woman dies, two men hospitalized following two-car crash in Waterbury

A woman has died after a two-car crash in Waterbury that also injured two other people.

The crash was reported on Sunday at the intersection of West Main Street and Watertown Avenue, where a Honda Element and Ford Escape were involved in a collision, according to the Waterbury Police Department.

Two people in the Ford, a 37-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, were each taken to area hospitals following the crash. The woman, identified as Pepsi Holder of Waterbury, ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead, police said. The man suffered minor injuries, according to police.

The driver of the Honda, a 49-year-old man, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, police said.

The crash is being investigated by the Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
