I’m a gypsy woman and married outside of the community – it was the best thing I ever did – he cooks and cleans
A GYPSY woman has revealed the real reason she decided to marry a man from outside of her community.
Tracey King and her husband Mark, have been together for 27 years – but it’s not common for gypsy women to marry a non-traveller.
Tracey revealed the main reason she married outside of her community[/caption] Mark, her husband, was constantly helping with housework and chores[/caption]Taking to social media, the mum revealed the real reason why she decided not to go for a gypsy man.
The couple joked that they met when they got into a minor car accident and fell in love on the spot.
She said: “In my parents era, men didn’t cook, clean, they didn’t do anything, they didn’t look after the children.”
Tracey filmed her husband dusting one of her artworks for her as she claimed this wouldn’t happen if he was from her community.
She added that a lot of traveller men still follow this and refuse to help their wives as Tracey branded them ‘lazy.’
But when she first got together with Mark she was stunned to come home to find he had cleaned the whole house – something she had never seen while growing up.
Now, Tracey loves the fact her husband helps around the house, cooks and looks after the kids and she plans to raise her kids the same way.
“I want my boys to know how to cook and clean because what if they don’t want to get married?
“What if they want to move out and do their own thing?”
“This is why I didn’t marry a travelling fella”
Tracey also added that the strict rules within the community also put her off marrying a man from there.
While she agreed it’s not all of the men she said she had witnessed controlling behaviour and didn’t want that for herself or her daughters.
Previously, Tracey has also joked that one of the key factors in marrying Mark was that he can cook.
She said: “This is why, I’m gonna say it.
“I’m gonna say it.
“This is why I didn’t want a traveller man.
“Cause I ain’t seen a traveller man cook, and I know I like grub.”
The clip posted to her TikTok account @traceywinter1 was a hit with viewers who prised the couple on their adorable marriage.
One person wrote: “Well said.”
Another commented: “That’s true love.”
“He’s a keeper what a lovely man,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Mark’s a diamond you’re lucky to have each other.”
Someone else added: “You are a team a beautiful couple with a lovely family.”
