Bargain hunter reveals how to get a pick-your-own giant food palette from Aldi for £3.30…there’s fruit, veg & even sushi
A WOMAN has shared how she got a pick-your-own giant palette of food from Aldi.
So if you’re on a budget and are looking to cut costs on your food shopping, you’ve come to the right place.
Becky Chorlton, thrifter and owner of ‘Becky’s Bazaar’ – a second-hand business reselling vintage garments – took to social media to explain that thanks to Too Good To Go, she nabbed food to last her for days – for only £3.30.
Posting online, Becky said: “This is the best Too Good To Go bag I’ve ever seen, in my whole life.
“Too Good To Go is basically an app where companies will sell off surplus food in surprise mystery bags.
“This one was from Aldi and it cost a grand total of £3.30.”
As Becky filmed in her local Aldi store, she added: “When we went in to collect, the woman took us over to this giant palette and told us to pick any crate we wanted.
“I was actually shocked, all of this food was £3.30.”
Once Becky had returned home, she showed off the brilliant buys she got in her food palette, as she beamed: “Here’s what we ended up getting. We got some bread, mushrooms, loads of fruit like oranges, bananas, pears.
“A literally endless supply of spring onions, some cauliflower, grapes and melon.”
Becky then proceeded to hold up the other items in her box – including apples, potatoes and even a selection box of salmon sushi.
She then asked: “Do you think this was worth £3.30?”
Becky later added: “We used all this food! We made a giant fruit salad for my family and used the veg in our dinners.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @beckysbazaar, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 17,100 views in just 16 hours.
Social media users were stunned at Becky’s box of food and many took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “Wow, that’s amazing, definitely worth it.”
Another added: “OMG! That’s so good!!”
To this, Becky claimed: “It literally fed us for days.”
A third commented: “Bargain!!!!!!”
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “That’s so good! Aldi never appears on my app. Lidl also does fruit and veg crates but you have to be early to get one I never can.”
In response, Becky explained: “I think we got super lucky with this one.”
If you fancy getting your hands on a similar box, you’ll need to download the Too Good To Go app now.
The app connects hungry Brits with food chains and supermarkets with leftover food that would otherwise be thrown away, in a bid to curb food waste.
