Salem Police: 3 injured in Fred Meyer parking lot shooting
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Salem police are on the scene of a shooting in a Fred Meyer parking lot that left three people injured Monday morning.
When officers arrived to the store at 3740 Market Street NE, they found a woman and man, both 30, with gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Another man, 28, was also found with a gunshot wound inside the Elmer’s Restaurant east of the store’s parking lot.
All three victims were taken to Salem Health with injuries, where the woman and one of the men remain hospitalized. Police did not reveal the victims' names.
According to Salem police, officers "have accounted for all the individuals, and there is no continued threat to the public from this incident." Officers have yet to make an arrest.
Officials say the store has re-opened, though a portion of the parking lot remains closed while their investigation continues. Customers should use the Lancaster Drive entrance until the scene clears.
