Pedestrian struck, killed on freeway in hit-run crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A pedestrian died in Clackamas County after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday night, Oregon State Police announced.

Authorities say they responded to the report of a dead person in the road on I-205 South near milepost 15 around 11:30 p.m.

"The preliminary investigation indicated that a black vehicle struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene," police said.

Alejandro Rivera, 48 of Happy Valley, was identified as the victim.

The left lane of I-205 Southbound was impacted for approximately four hours during the crash investigation, which is still ongoing.
