Right-wing pundit quickly backtracks after giving 'virulent antisemite' an interview

Jason Whitlock, a right-wing pundit, is in hot water after conducting an interview with E. Michael Jones, an activist described by The Daily Beast as a "virulent antisemite" — and Whitlock is now trying to purge social media content promoting the interview.

"During a lengthy interview that aired on January 18, Whitlock described Jones as 'a celebrated author, a public intellectual, [and] an ardent supporter of the Catholic faith,'" reported Justin Baragona. "Praising Jones’ latest book and noting that they both believe that 'sexual lust…has been turned into a tool to control all of us,' Whitlock boasted that the author was 'under attack by the Anti-Defamation League' and had been 'canceled because of his writings.'"

Following the interview, Whitlock apologized, saying, “After the interview, I did start, like, looking around and seeing, like, oh, man, this guy’s got some real controversy to him. I don't regret having him on.”

But according to the report, Whitlock should have known what he had gotten into during the interview, because Jones ranted about the Jews right in front of him. Moreover, after Jones said that Jews are “undermining the moral fabric of the American people,” Whitlock said “I get it, and I can’t say that I disagree.” He went on to call Jones "fearless" after another tirade in which Jones said Jews run the government and are "controlling" Black Americans.

In recent years, antisemites have gained a more comfortable presence in the Republican Party.

In one of the most prominent examples, former President Donald Trump held a Mar-a-Lago meeting with white nationalist figure Nick Fuentes, and Hitler-praising rapper Kanye "Ye" West.
