All the clues Love Island’s Ekin-Su and Davide had secretly split – from shady tweets to solo nights out
LOVE Island’s Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have been dropping hints for weeks that they’d secretly split.
Ekin-Su today confirmed she had made the decision to call time on their romance.
The couple met in the villa and managed to beat finalists Luca Bish and Gemma Owen, and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, in Love Island in 2022.
Viewers were gripped by the ups and downs of their Love Island journey last year which included plenty of fireworks and Davide spawning an iconic catchphrase when he branded Ekin “an actress and a liar” in an explosive row.
Despite a rocky romance, Ekin-Su moved to Manchester to be with Davide shortly after leaving the villa.
By June the following year it had all proved too much for the Love Island pair, with speculation Davide had cheated with models, and Ekin confronted him over a suspected fling — branding his lover a “f***ing slag”.
The Sun on Sunday saw messages from Ekin accusing the woman of “sleeping with my boyfriend”.
The Sun revealed they had split up for the first time in June.
It wasn’t long before the passionate pair rekindled their romance and despite their ups and downs, they seemed to be going from strength to strength after a holiday in Turkey together to visit Ekin-Su’s family.
The cracks began to show again at the tail end of last year, after Ekin-Su filmed The Traitors US alongside some huge names.
New Beginnings
Ekin-Su opened up about her stint in the US Traitors and how it had changed her.
The star was buried alive when her time on the show came to an end.
Looking back on how she reflected on that moment, it sounded like she was talking about the end of a relationship.
“It felt like the old Ekin-Su was dying and the new one was being born.”
She continued: “After that scene, I am not the same person. I am telling you, after I was buried, it’s almost like something clicked in my head.
“I realised how short life really was and that I need to just live my life and be happy and do what I want to do and love life, and have no grudges against the world, and just enjoy every second.”
Nights out without him
Their last public appearance together was at The Beauty Awards on 28 November.
The couple later jetted to Rome together to spend New Years Eve with Davide’s family, followed by a visit further north to the Italian alps to celebrate his birthday.
It was on this trip that fans noticed Davide liking photos of an OnlyFans model, who returned the likes on his holiday snaps – but only the ones that didn’t include Ekin-Su.
A week later Ekin-Su attended a star-studded red carpet without Davide.
She donned a bold, skin-tight all-black jumpsuit at the premiere, complementing the outfit with black heels and a small black bag.
Shady tweets
It wasn’t long before fans noticed Ekin-Su’s unusual social media activity.
The actress was spotted liking a tweet that said: “He’s been chasing Sylvija since October. I think he wants to roam free now.”
However, another fan mused: “Don’t worry y’all they just prepping for the next Love Island All Stars plotline.”
Sylvija Vasilevska, an OnlyFans model, is said to be friends with Davide and the pair often like each other’s photos.
A source told The Sun: “They’re on the brink of a split and Ekin-Su has been going to events without Davide. They’re having rows over this friend of Davide’s who Ekin suspects more might be going on with. She’s an OnlyFans model and longterm friend of his in Manchester.”
