The Allahabad High Court has fixed February 22 for hearing a plea on the maintainability of a suit seeking the removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque in Mathura. The mosque is claimed to have been built on the land of the Katra Keshav Deo temple, which covers an area of 13.37 acres. The court ordered the Hindu side to file its reply on the plea challenging the suit's maintainability. The court had earlier stayed the survey of the mosque complex adjoining the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple based on a Supreme Court order.
