COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person walked into a hospital in south Columbus Monday night and died a half an hour later.

Police reported that a gunshot victim walked into Nationwide Children's Hospital Monday night at around 10:30 p.m. The victim, 41-year-old Larry Edwards was pronounced dead a short time later, just after 11 p.m.

Columbus police responded to shots fired in the area of Parsons Avenue at 10:33 p.m. and believe the shooting may have happened on Parsons Avenue near Livingston Park, across the street from the hospital. Edwards was reportedly shot while driving his car in that vicinity.

Police had also taped off the hospital itself overnight and were focusing its investigation on Parsons Avenue, near the entrance of the hospital. Livingston Park did not have police tape around its premises.

At around 3:30 a.m., police towed away a vehicle that may have been connected to the shooting, but there are still no known potential suspects at this time.

CPD is asking that anyone with information regarding this incident to call Columbus Police Detective Brandt at (614) 645-4077, the Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730, or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
