WATCH- Sarfaraz Khan’s Father Sends Message to BCCI Following Son’s Maiden Test Call-Up
Sarfaraz Khan was finally rewarded for his outstanding domestic cricket when he was named in the Indian squad for the second Test against England, which begins February 2. The decision was made in light of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul’s injury, which forced them to miss the match. Sarfaraz has recently performed admirably for Mumbai on the home circuit, as well as for India ‘A’. Sarfaraz’s father, Naushad Khan, turned to social media to share his thoughts following the Test call-up, thanking the selectors and fans for their support.
“You all know that Sarfaraz got his maiden Test call-up today. I want to thank everyone, especially Mumbai Cricket Association where he grew up. Also, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) where he got experience, BCCI and the selectors for trusting in him, and all his fans who prayed for him and supported him,” he says in the video.
“We all hope that he plays well for the country and contributes to the team’s win,” he added.
Rohit Sharma’s led Team India lost the nail-biting first Test by 28 runs in Hyderabad on Sunday after leading for the majority of the first three days.
India will meet England in the second of five-match series in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar have been added to India’s team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced in a statement.
“Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during play on Day Four of the first Test in Hyderabad while Rahul complained of a right quadriceps pain,” the BCCI said.
The BCCI said its medics are “monitoring the progress of the duo”
