Stop overlining your lips – my tip makes them seem much fuller but people think it looks like I have a mustache
A MAKEUP connoisseur said overlining your lips is so old school.
She came up with a plumping method that she believes looks way more natural and doesn’t require as much work — but it’s controversial.
Beauty expert Giorgina Juanita (@gjuanita) said she’s no longer a fan of overlined lips.
Luckily, she has a hack that will give you the pout you’re looking for, without all the excess makeup.
“If you want fuller lips but you’re still doing this, like we did in 2016, let me help you out sis. It’s time for a new technique,” she said in the clip.
She began by showing the results of her method, noting that it served a double whammy.
“It looks much fuller, but more natural at the same time.”
To achieve her look, take a brown lip liner and place three short lines in the “hollow areas” surrounding: one above each peak and slant of your upper lip, and one in the center below your bottom lip.
“I know it looks really funny, but this is where you use your fingers.”
She said to blend the lines in using the warmth of your fingers so that they become more subtle.
“What you’re doing is essentially contouring your lips so that they look bigger without actually looking unnatural.”
Finishing off the look with lip oil, she praised the way it turned out, while most viewers weren’t such fans.
“No, it looks like you have a mustache,” one person claimed, with another echoing, “I feel like it could easily look like a mustache shadow.”
A third said she didn’t need that hack because “[her] mustache did the same thing.”
