‘I am very motivated’ – Tottenham’s Alejo Veliz gives first interview since Sevilla loan
Alejo Veliz has revealed that he instructed his representatives to do everything possible to get the deal done once he heard that Sevilla wanted to sign him on loan.
Veliz perhaps ended up getting more opportunities at Spurs over the last few months than many would have anticipated, partly owing to the club’s injury crisis.
The fact that Ange Postecoglou brought him on as a substitute eight times in the Premier League is a clear sign that the Australian is impressed by what the youngster has to offer.
The 20-year-old will now get an opportunity to show Postecoglou and the staff at Tottenham just what he can do at the highest level after sealing a deadline-day loan switch to Sevilla.

The Argentine has now spoken about his desire to complete a switch to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium as soon as he heard of the Andalusian side’s interest.
Veliz is now quoted as saying to Diario de Sevilla: “It is a very nice change and a very good experience, and I am very motivated.
“When my agent told me that there was the option of Sevilla, I told him that we should do everything to make it happen. It’s a huge club and I really wanted to come. Thank God I am here, and I am going to enjoy it to the fullest.”

A part of me feels it would have been better for Spurs to loan Veliz out to a Championship side so that he could get adjusted to the pace and intensity of the English game.
However, one can understand why the 20-year-old would have been keen to join a club of the stature of Sevilla and it will be interesting to see how he gets on in Spain over the coming months.
