No flight route under UDAN scheme cancelled: Govt

0
No routes have been cancelled under the UDAN scheme, which aims to enhance regional air connectivity. The routes are allocated through a bidding process, and the Airports Authority of India ensures the necessary facilities for operation. Airlines that walk away from a route lead to re-bidding in the next round. The government has no pre-allotment of routes. Airlines must commence flight operations within two years of bidding, and if they fail to do so, the route goes into the next bidding process. Airlines decide on the number of flights based on cost and viability. The new terminal at Pune airport is currently under construction.
