Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren, after the new government led by CM Champai Soren passed the confidence motion. The JMM-INC-RJD-CPI (ML) alliance won the floor test with a 47:29 majority in the 81-member assembly. Hemant Soren, who was arrested in an alleged land scam, was also present during the trust vote.
