The government has identified 27 new sites for development under the PRASHAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme, aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure at pilgrimage and heritage sites. Additionally, 57 destinations have been identified for development under the revamped Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme, focusing on sustainable and responsible tourism. The Union Minister of Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, provided this information in response to queries in the Lok Sabha, highlighting ongoing efforts to promote India as a preferred tourism destination.
