The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has conducted four successful flight trials of the high-speed expendable aerial target (HEAT)-ABHYAS. The trials were conducted in a revised robust configuration, using a single booster designed by the Advanced Systems Laboratory in Hyderabad. ABHYAS serves as a realistic threat scenario for weapon systems practice and requires minimal logistics.
