A fresh application has been filed in the Varanasi district court, seeking a survey by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) of the remaining cellars beneath the Gyanvapi mosque. The ASI couldn't survey these cellars due to blocked entrances. The application aims to ascertain the religious character of the mosque complex as of August 15, 1947, without causing damage. This comes after a court order allowed pujas in one of the cellars. The Anjuman Intezamia Mosque Committee will present an amended appeal challenging the order in the Allahabad High Court.
