My husband & I don’t wear shoes – shops don’t like it, we have a sneaky solution so we can go barefoot in Sephora
TOUTING the supposed benefits of walking barefoot, a couple has officially ditched shoes, even when they leave home.
While they’re clearly fans of the lifestyle, many businesses are not.
Christi Fritz (@christifritz) and her husband are dedicated to their real life cause of walking barefoot.
“[It] means the world to us,” she said in a clip.
Among the health benefits of this practice, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jonathan Kaplan told Healthline that the most straightforward one is that “in theory, walking barefoot more closely restores our ‘natural’ walking pattern, also known as our gait.”
Another foot surgeon, Dr. Bruce Pinker told the site that padded shoes can “prevent you from using certain muscle groups that can actually strengthen your body.”
The only problem? Many stores don’t allow shoeless customers inside.
So, the duo came up with a creative solution.
“We removed the bottoms of all of our shoes.
“Since some businesses don’t want us being completely barefoot, if we cut off the bottoms of our shoes, it will allow us to be barefoot but also blend in with everybody else.”
She panned over dozens of shoes, including Nike, Burberry, and Golden Goose sneakers.
Although those were their “favorite shoes,” they were committed to the cause and decided to cut them open.
“Our shoe collection is worth more than $20,000… but the benefits of walking barefoot are priceless, so now our shoes are worth more than money could ever be.”
They got to work removing every single bottom, though she called it a “freeing experience” that was easier than she imagined.
“So, after we cut the bottoms off, we decided to try it out and went to our favorite store Sephora.
“And as you know, they don’t really like us in here without shoes.”
As the only ones who knew their little secret, they had a great experience – with workers approaching them for guidance and even complimenting their shoes.
“I definitely recommend this if you’re going to go incognito barefoot. It’s the perfect way to get all the benefits of going barefoot, but also have no one know.”
