NHS dentist

Just called my dentist to book a check up for me and my lad, get told over the phone that my dentist has decided she won't be doing NHS check ups any more and instead it's private only.

The price was £25 and it's now £69. The check up is exactly the same, I asked if essentially my dentist has just decided to charge three times more than they did before for no other reason than their own greed, the answer was basically yes.

How is this ok? I know I've got no choice but I'm just venting here.

£70 for someone to look at your teeth for fifteen minutes and say they're fine? Really?
