Safely dispose of unwanted medications in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Police Department reminds residents that there is a disposal box in the front lobby. The box, which is sponsored by CVS, is available to everyone as a safe and secure option for discarding unwanted medications.

Visitors can discard prescription medications, patches, ointments, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and even pet medications. Some items cannot be accepted, including thermometers, non-prescription ointments or lotions, inhalers, hydrogen peroxide, needles, and aerosol canisters.
