Schenectady Foundation offering two scholarships

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Foundation invites high school seniors to apply for two college scholarships they are offering: the Anna Hudson Erbacher Scholarship and the Schenectady High School STEM Scholarship. People can apply for these scholarships by visiting the foundation's website by March 25.

The Anna Hudson Erbacher Scholarship is awarded annually to graduating seniors from Schenectady County high schools intending to pursue teaching. Recipients must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, character, and extra-curricular and community activities.

They will receive a total of $10,000 per recipient with $2,500 installments per year as long as they continue to qualify for the scholarship. This money can be used for tuition, room and board, activity fees, and any costs billed through the bursar's office.

The Schenectady HS STEM Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors in the Schenectady county school district intending to pursue engineering, science, or math majors in college. Recipients selected demonstrate academic achievements, commitment to science, community involvement, and financial need for the scholarship. This scholarship is $5,000 and may be paid over four years.
