33-year-old Massachusetts man dies in snowmobiling accident in Lewis County

LEWIS COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- New York State Police were called to a snowmobile accident around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the Town of Montague in Lewis County.

State Police arrived at a trail near Culpepper Road and found that 33-year-old Richard Mangiardi Jr. was going around a curve in the trail, veered off, and hit a tree.

He suffered a "traumatic head injury" and was pronounced dead at the scene, NYSP says.
