Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry makes oil, gas industry announcements
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry made several announcements regarding the oil and gas industries on Monday, Feb. 5.
Landry made the announcements during his keynote speech at the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas' annual meeting.
He first announced that he would sign a proclamation in support of the industries.
Additionally, he said he would sign an executive order to expedite permitting processes that may cause hold-ups. He said there would be a dashboard to see the permitting process in real-time.
Landry also announced that a $100 million bond allocation would be made for Chevron's Geismar Renewable Diesel Plant expansion project.
According to a release, the multi-million-dollar project "is expected to bring 90 new permanent jobs and 1,500 temporary jobs."
