Austin police investigating after fatal crash on SH 45

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- One person died after a crash on State Highway 45 Monday morning, Austin-Travis County EMS said.

ATCEMS said one person was pinned inside their vehicle, following the two-vehicle crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person was evaluated for minor injuries. The Austin Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Austin Police said it was investigating the crash. All westbound lanes between Lake Creek Parkway and the end of the toll road were closed for a portion of the morning rush hour.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported the crash on social media around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
