DANDRUFF is a common concern for many people around the world, with around 50 per cent of adults dealing with this skin condition.

But although there are several products in the market, one savvy beauty lover has come to rescue with a more budget-friendly homemade remedy.

That’s right, according to Tanisha Ahuja, you can tackle dandruff with just two popular cupboard essentials that won’t break the banklemon and coconut oil.

The natural cosmetics fan, who found her skin dry due to the change in weather, took to TikTok to share her ”favourite” way to help the flaky scalp without using harsh chemicals.

”Since last month my schedule was very busy, I wasn’t taking care properly my hair and skin,” she explained in the video.

”I suffered from extreme dryness due to cold weather and was not doing oiling enough on my hair.”

The young woman had also been using a lot of hairspray – which only caused the scalp to become more dry.

But rather than forking out a fortune on store-bought products, Tanisha improved the condition of her scalp using food from her kitchen – and the miracle remedy costs just 50p per use.

According to the beauty whizz, the answer behind the secret potion is coconut oil mixed with some lemon juice, as they both boast effective properties to help your skin.

Whilst lemon is ”an antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory ingredient”, rich coconut oil will help to moisturise your locks and scalp, as well as tackle the dryness caused by dandruff.

Sharing the bargain trick on her platform, Tanisha added that coconut oil, however, will not tackle the root cause of dandruff.

To make the budget-friendly treatment, simply mix two tablespoons of melted coconut with one teaspoon of zesty lemon juice – that’s it, really.

The rest is pretty easy and straightforward – simply apply the mixture on your head using gloves and give it a good massage, before wearing a shower cap to ensure it doesn’t spill all over the place.

Once done, let the remedy works its magic for 15 to 30 minutes and then jump in the shower to rinse it off – Tanisha advised to best use a sulphate-free shampoo.

Posting the hack on the platform, Tanisha, from Canada, added that she was not a hair specialist and this was something she’d learnt from her parents.

”This remedy always work for me whenever I get dandruff.

”Lemon might not be suitable for everyone’s scalp. So please do your own research before you use this.

”If your scalp is allergic to lemon, or creates redness, please stay away and consult with your hair specialist.”

Dozens raced to comments – and it’s not just Tanisha raving about the remedy.

One said: ”So true, lemon is good for dandruff.”

Someone else chimed in: ”Well, I used pure Aloe Vera, ginger, onion juice and coconut oil and it worked really good on my scalp.”

Another penned: ”I apply fresh aloe gel after I take a shower.”
