Love Island fans ‘work out’ real reason Joanna pulled Sophie for a chat over Josh love triangle
LOVE Island fans figured out the real reason Joanna Chimonides pulled Sophie Piper for a chat over the Josh Ritchie love triangle, and it wasn’t about being ‘a girls girl’.
The 27-year-old got some backlash from viewers after she confronted Sophie about Josh’s movements in the villa.
At the beginning of yesterday’s episode, Josh and Joanna quietly went to the terrace where they confirmed that they’re both interested in getting to know each other better.
This abruptly fizzled out when at the end of the night, Josh clarified to Joanna that he no longer wants to explore that and instead wants to focus on Sophie, whom he’s coupled up with.
Joanna later approached Sophie to disclose their secret conversation, which left Sophie furious.
Some fans think Joanna didn’t act on her own initiative; instead, they suspect producers prompted her to do so.
One user wrote on Reddit: “There was zero point to it other than to create drama.
“I don’t know but I get the feeling that Joanna might see herself in competition with Sophie – she just happened to go for the same two guys that Sophie was talking to, Chris and Josh?
“Maybe production encouraged Joanna when she went in so it would bring more out of Sophie because it definitely feels like Joanna wanted to make that a bigger deal.”
Another user added: “Producer influence for sure.”
A third penned: “It felt like a producer led conversation tbh. As you said, there was no point to it.”
A fourth echoed: “I think the producers encourage them to blab for the drama, it would be a bit boring otherwise. Same principle as showing the clips to everyone.”
A fifth wrote: “This is one of the times I 100% think the producers told her to tell Sophie and had Kaz & Molly encourage her. The producers want drama, coupled up closed off couples don’t create drama.”
