It was another slow week on the Billboard 200 albums chart, but it was a big week for Morgan Wallen, whose “One Thing at a Time” hopped back up one spot to number-one. That gave the album 18 nonconsecutive weeks at the peak, tying Garth Brooks‘s “Ropin’ the Wind” as the country album with the most weeks on top. Read more about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
“One Thing at a Time” achieved just 66,000 equivalent album units based on its combined record sales, individual track sales and online streams. That’s a relatively low total for a chart-topper, though it was up four-percent from week to week. Its rise back to the top pushed 21 Savage‘s “American Dream” down to number-two with 61,000 units. Drake‘s “For All the Dogs” placed third with 51,000 units. Noah Kahan‘s “Stick Season” moved up to fourth position with 47,000 units. Taylor Swift‘s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” rounded out the top five with 45,000 units.
In our weekly Billboard 200 predictions contest, most game players expected “American Dream” to stay in the top spot for a third week; fewer than a dozen users predicted “One Thing at a Time’s” historic return to the summit, and exactly a dozen correctly bet that “American Dream” would drop to number-two. Our odds were right, though, that the top album would move fewer than 100,000 units.
Eleven people predicted “For All the Dogs” in third place. But we keep underestimating “Stick Season.” None of us saw its rise to number-four coming, so no one gets a perfect score in this week’s contest. At number-five, just 10 people predicted “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” In the end, though, one person managed to correctly answer five out of the six prediction questions.
